We love our Wii

Brandon has been begging for a Wii for a long time! We were going to get one with our Christmas money but we needed a computer instead. Brandon was really upset but agreed that it was more important to have a reliable computer. After we did our tax return, we found out we were getting much more back than originally anticipated...thankyou military! For our anniversary (which is in March), I decided to get a Wii for Brandon but couldn't find one anywhere. When I actually won the bid for one on Ebay I was shocked. I was going to try to keep it a secret from Brandon until March but there is no way to hide a present from him. I think it is a sixth sense of his. Well, we got the Wii a couple of days ago and are having a blast. The cool thing is I am getting a pretty good workout from the boxing and tennis. I know I wouldn't be able to compete with my Aunt Jerilyn in real tennis but I might be able to take her in Wii tennis. Jacob is even having fun imitating Brandon. He swings his Wii-mote like Brandon when playing baseball. Anyone out there that might be considering a Wii, they are totally worth it! This is the only gaming system I would consider buying because it makes you get up and really play.

Boys will be boys

My Dad sent me this email and I laughed so hard I cried.

  • 1. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq. ft. house 4 inches deep.
  • 2. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
  • 3. A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
  • 4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
  • 5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
  • 6. The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
  • 7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.
  • 8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
  • 9. A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.
  • 10. Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4- year old Boy.
  • 11. Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.
  • 12. Super glue is forever.
  • 13. No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
  • 14. Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
  • 15. VCR's do not eject "PB & J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.
  • 16. Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
  • 17. Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
  • 18. You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.
  • 19. Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.
  • 20. The fire department in Austin , TX has a 5-minute response time.
  • 21. The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
  • 22. It will, however, make cats dizzy.
  • 23. Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
  • 24. 80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.
  • 25. 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.

China

I just wanted everybody to know that Brandon is going to China for a month. The top 18 students in his class were put into a drawing and only 9 names were drawn. Brandon was one of them. We are so excited for him! The kids and I will be going back to TX for most of that time to help the days go by faster. I am so proud of Brandon and am amazed at this wonderful opportunity!

More Pics

Everybody got to ride on Daddy's shoulders...
Then...

Jacob wanted Zoe to ride on his shoulders. It was hilarious to see the three of them walking around like this. Zoe and Jacob were laughing so hard it was infectious.

Recent Pics

Jacob and his friend Kale had fun jumping on the bed. Kale's younger brother Bryce was jumping too and things got a little crazy.

For some reason Zoe likes to suck on her passy up-side-down. Even when we fix it for her, she takes it out and turns it over.

Jacob loves to fly and right now, this is as close as he can get. Brandon runs full blast down the hallway and Jacob puts his arms up.

Zoe has learned how to stand up while holding onto the laundry basket. She has gotten pretty good...until she fell in head first. She thought it was pretty funny.

How Time Flies

Jacob is growing up so fast! Last night after bath time, Jacob saw Brandon standing in front of the toilet doing his business. Jacob looked perplexed but then pulled his stool over and started going tee-tee while standing up!! I couldn't believe it! Today Jacob has already done it twice and the second time he didn't even tell me. All I heard was the toilet seat then heard pee. I jumped up and ran back there to find him standing on his stool smiling. He even put the toilet seat back down before he flushed! This will make life much easier but I will admit I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I never thought I would get so excited about a little boy learning to pee standing up until I had kids...oh how kids change your world!

Update on Zoe crawling...She is getting pretty fast now and knows how to change directions. She is also learning how to pull up on things and stand up. I found her standing next to the laundry basket with my freshly folded laundry strewn on the floor around her...fun times.

Newest News

Zoe is crawling!! She still goes backwards more than forward but she is going forward. Yesterday was the first time we saw her. When Brandon and I got on the floor and cheered her on, Jacob got on the floor next to her and started crawling too. We had a great time last night trying to entice Zoe enough to keep crawling. Oh, and she is starting to get hair. She still looks like a bald baby from a far, but when you look at her head you can see it. It is very light brown.

I have recently started reading a lot and am loving it! If anyone has any suggestions on books let me know. Becca has gotten me into shelfari.com so I now have a list of things I would like to read.
