How Time Flies

Jacob is growing up so fast! Last night after bath time, Jacob saw Brandon standing in front of the toilet doing his business. Jacob looked perplexed but then pulled his stool over and started going tee-tee while standing up!! I couldn't believe it! Today Jacob has already done it twice and the second time he didn't even tell me. All I heard was the toilet seat then heard pee. I jumped up and ran back there to find him standing on his stool smiling. He even put the toilet seat back down before he flushed! This will make life much easier but I will admit I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I never thought I would get so excited about a little boy learning to pee standing up until I had kids...oh how kids change your world!

Update on Zoe crawling...She is getting pretty fast now and knows how to change directions. She is also learning how to pull up on things and stand up. I found her standing next to the laundry basket with my freshly folded laundry strewn on the floor around her...fun times.

Newest News

Zoe is crawling!! She still goes backwards more than forward but she is going forward. Yesterday was the first time we saw her. When Brandon and I got on the floor and cheered her on, Jacob got on the floor next to her and started crawling too. We had a great time last night trying to entice Zoe enough to keep crawling. Oh, and she is starting to get hair. She still looks like a bald baby from a far, but when you look at her head you can see it. It is very light brown.

I have recently started reading a lot and am loving it! If anyone has any suggestions on books let me know. Becca has gotten me into shelfari.com so I now have a list of things I would like to read.

My Newest Obsession

This past Monday I finished reading a book series that is absolutely to die for. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer are awesome. Brandon didn't like them very much because I was so obsessed with them we had very simple meals for a week. It took me about a week to read all of these books because as soon as I would finish one, I would start the next one. There is a fourth book coming out in the Fall and I can't wait.

*Sarah, I know you would like these!!!

Zoe's Crawling Attempt

She is still working on it. She moves backwards a lot. I put her in the middle of the floor to play but when I come back, she is under the table or over by the door. She is getting really good at sitting up by herself too.

Happy New Year!

Zoe got to meet a lot of family members at the annual New Year's Eve party in College Station. This is Aunt Melissa and Uncle Jeff is somewhere behind us.

Here is 4 generations of my family. Great Grandmother Eaves was dancing the night away with everybody else!

Here we are on the dance floor...Zoe was gettin' jiggy.

Jacob had a blast running around playing with the party favors. We stayed at the party until about 10:30 then went back to our room to rest up for the long day of travel ahead of us. It didn't really matter because both of the kids woke up at midnight...they just wanted to bring in the New Year.

We really enjoyed seeing everybody over the holidays. I only wish that we could have spent more time with everybody. We were also able to see some friends while we were in Texas and that was a lot of fun! We are very blessed to have so many people in our life that we care about.

Last Holiday Stop...College Station, TX

We got to our new nephew Caleb! He is so cute even though he is wearing all of that maroon.

Just want to let everyone know...I am going to be his favorite Aunt!! I wish we could have spent more time with him!

Zoe got to meet her Poppie (my Step-Dad) for the first time. She also got to meet Aunt Tatum, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Anthony, Uncle Austin, Uncle Mark, Cousins Madelyn and Caleb. She already knew her Lita (my Mom).

This is our Niece Madelyn. She loves to sing and dance!! She and Jacob woke me up one morning by crawling into bed, then she sang me her ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a Hannah Montana song. I was sufficiently awake by the time we got to the third song. She and Jacob had so much fun playing together!!

Stop Number 3...Anahuac, TX

This was Zoe's first time to see her PawPaw(Brandon's Dad). As you can see, she had a lot of fun with him! I think her favorite part was his mustache.

We got to spend the day with Grandma and Grandaddy McCain. Uncle Payton and Rini are in this picture too.

We spent most of the day outside playing around or in Pawpaw's truck.

I love this picture!! This is 4 generations of McCain Men...and Jacob. I was just happy that all of them were smiling!

We had a great time playing cards and eating lots of good food.

Second Stop...Houston

On Christmas day we drove to Baytown to see Brandon's side of the family. Mimi (Brandon's step-Mom) had to work after Christmas but was able to see us on Christmas Day. This is Zoe's first time meeting her Mimi. Zoe loved sitting in her lap and playing with her necklace.

Nana and Pappy(Brandon's Mom and Step-Dad) played with the kids as much as possible! We also got to see, Aunt Beth, Aunt Amy and Uncle Jesse and cousins Champ and James. We will hopefully have more pictures of them soon. One of the nights we were there, Uncle Payton and Rini came over and played card games. We found out that Rini and I are very competitive!!

First Stop for the Holidays...Austin, TX

On the way to Texas, we had a 3 leg flight. Just when we got the kids settled, we were landing. It ended up working out and the kids did great! Everyone on the plane was pleasantly surprised that our kids were in a good mood or sleeping the whole way. Zoe played peak-a-boo with everyone around us.

Jacob was ecstatic that he not only was going to see a plane, but ride on one too. We sat next to the wing where he was plastered to the window until we were comfortably in the air. He was such a good little boy in his own seat. He got to watch "Meet the Robinsons" on the IPOD and loved his mini movie.

We got to see just about everybody in Austin. Zoe got to meet all of her cousins and Jacob was old enough to really play with the older kids. We didn't get to see Jeff and Melissa in Austin but we caught up with them later in the trip. We also didn't get to see some of our friends, Jared and Noel. They were very understanding.

Jacob had a blast with all of Nanie and Papa's toys! At first, Zachary was driving. When Zachary was tired of it, Nanie jumped in. Jacob got used to everything and started driving himself. He knew how to make it start and stop, but turning was another story. Luckily, he only crashed into the side of the house once.
