Hide and Seek

Has anyone else ever noticed the warning sticker on the bottom of container lids? Well, if not, it is a picture of a baby sitting in the container with a circle and a line through it. Jacob has decided to ignore all warnings when trying to find a hiding place. This is what happens to a child's imagination when stuck inside for a week because of the rain. The really great thing is that he did this again when Brandon got home because Mommy got such a kick out of it.

I love having kids!!

Real Food

Zoe started eating real food a couple of weeks ago. We gave her small pieces of toast to start off with. Now, she refused to eat baby food. She loves feeding herself and it is hilarious to watch her shovel food into her mouth. Well this was her first encounter and the pictures are in order. Brandon and I obviously forgot that babies are messy.

Wouldn't it be more fun to eat this way?

Book Brag, Book Bag, Book Snag, Book TAG

I was tagged by my cousin Becca, here is how it works:
Pick up the nearest book (one with at least 123 pages)
Open to page 123
Find the 5th sentence
Post the next 3 sentences
Tag 5 people (or as many as you'd like)

The nearest book to me is The Other Boleyn Girl. I haven't read it yet but a friend of mine loved it and is letting me borrow it...we will see.

Here goes: Lord Henry Percy laughed. "I'm sure I could get an indulgence," he said. "The Pope would surely grant me a dispensation. With two sisters like this, what man could be made to chose?"

I tag Jess, Melissa, Kathryn, and Sarah

By the way, I agree with Becca. Shelfari.com is a great way to keep up with what you have read and what you would like to read.

Family Adventures

Well, this is our first full family sickness. This adventure is definately not one I would choose but is one that was bound to happen eventually. Jacob started getting a cold about a week ago. He had the usual cough, congestion and fever for three days. This all happened over last weekend so of course the doctors office was not open. He didn't have a high enough fever for me to really worry but on Monday we took the kids to the doctor anyway. At this point, Zoe had started coughing but had no fever. The doctor told us Jacob had gotten past the worst of it and just needed it to run its course. Zoe's ears looked good and without a fever there wasn't much to worry about. Throughout this past week Jacob slowly got better while Zoe slowly got worse. Today is the second day Zoe has had a fever and, of course, we are going into another weekend. We thought Jacob was on the up and up until he started holding his ear and screaming today. I took him to the clinic this afternoon and found out he now has an ear infection...not fun. To make things even more fun, I have started showing signs also. Luckily, this is a long weekend for Brandon, so I will have some help with the kids. I have been stuck in doors for the last week and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. Pray for my sanity :) I hope everyone else out there is doing well.

Happy Bacon Day!!!

If you used to watch the Simpson's you know about Bacon Day. Every Valentine's Day Marg made Homer breakfast that included bacon. He was so excited about the breakfast every year that he decided to change the name of the day to Bacon Day. When Brandon and I first met, he and his friends celebrated Bacon Day and let me join in on the fun. So, thanks to Jared, Matt, Rebecca, and Brandon, I love Bacon Day. This year Megan, a girl from Brandon's class and a new friend of mine, is coming over for Breakfast...for dinner. We are doing our best to carry on the Bacon Day tradition.

We love our Wii

Brandon has been begging for a Wii for a long time! We were going to get one with our Christmas money but we needed a computer instead. Brandon was really upset but agreed that it was more important to have a reliable computer. After we did our tax return, we found out we were getting much more back than originally anticipated...thankyou military! For our anniversary (which is in March), I decided to get a Wii for Brandon but couldn't find one anywhere. When I actually won the bid for one on Ebay I was shocked. I was going to try to keep it a secret from Brandon until March but there is no way to hide a present from him. I think it is a sixth sense of his. Well, we got the Wii a couple of days ago and are having a blast. The cool thing is I am getting a pretty good workout from the boxing and tennis. I know I wouldn't be able to compete with my Aunt Jerilyn in real tennis but I might be able to take her in Wii tennis. Jacob is even having fun imitating Brandon. He swings his Wii-mote like Brandon when playing baseball. Anyone out there that might be considering a Wii, they are totally worth it! This is the only gaming system I would consider buying because it makes you get up and really play.

China

I just wanted everybody to know that Brandon is going to China for a month. The top 18 students in his class were put into a drawing and only 9 names were drawn. Brandon was one of them. We are so excited for him! The kids and I will be going back to TX for most of that time to help the days go by faster. I am so proud of Brandon and am amazed at this wonderful opportunity!

More Pics

Everybody got to ride on Daddy's shoulders...
Then...

Jacob wanted Zoe to ride on his shoulders. It was hilarious to see the three of them walking around like this. Zoe and Jacob were laughing so hard it was infectious.

Recent Pics

Jacob and his friend Kale had fun jumping on the bed. Kale's younger brother Bryce was jumping too and things got a little crazy.

For some reason Zoe likes to suck on her passy up-side-down. Even when we fix it for her, she takes it out and turns it over.

Jacob loves to fly and right now, this is as close as he can get. Brandon runs full blast down the hallway and Jacob puts his arms up.

Zoe has learned how to stand up while holding onto the laundry basket. She has gotten pretty good...until she fell in head first. She thought it was pretty funny.
